Locations

The location of annual health check-ups changes every year in Iwate. Iwate Tohoku Medical Megabank staff will be at the following locations to conduct research: Kuji, Hirono, Noda, Fudai, Ofunato, Sumita, and Yahaba.

What to do

You will receive an annual health check-up slip with a letter from Iwate Tohoku Medical Megabank.

At the site volunteers will:

Undergo an annual health check-up

	Receive an explanation of the Project
	Provide informed consent for participation in the Project
	Provide blood and urine samples

Be given three survey forms to fill out at home which should be returned by mailed. Survey forms include:

Questions about health and lifestyle
Questions about dietary habits
An additional form about stress and mental health

Notification of results:

Various information is revealed by these health surveys. For example, participants will be notified of:

More detailed test results, such as heart and kidney function!
The level of nutritional balance in their diet!
The potential risk of disease!

Follow-up #1

Survey (~15 min) 6 months from the time of the
primary survey.

For all participants.

Follow-up #2

Survey (~15 min) 1.5 years from the time of the
primary survey.

Follow-up #3

Survey (~15 min) 2.5 years from the time of the
primary survey.

Follow-up #4

Survey (~15 min) 3.5 years from the time of the
primary survey.

Follow-up #5

Survey (~15 min) 4.5 years from the time of the
primary survey.

Secondary survey

A secondary survey will be administered 5 years from the time of the primary survey.

Expenses

Medical examinations that Iwate Tohoku Medical Megabank is responsible for will be at no expense to participants.
Compensation for taking part in this study will be made in the form of a 1,000 yen gift certificate.
